I am fascinated by the fun and flow of languages, their power of expression, crossing borders,

bringing people together.​

My languages: German, Swiss-German, Norwegian, English, French, a little Italian, a little North Sámi.​

I studied Linguistics and Literature at the University of Zürich (English, German and Scandinavian), worked as language teacher and translator in Norway (1983-1988),

then as lecturer for Norwegian language at the universities of Zürich and Basel until retiring in 2019.
